FHT and Reiki Tradition
The Professional Standards Authority is accountable to Parliament, and accreditation by this independent body demonstrates that a voluntary register is managed effectively and adheres to good practice. It enhances public protection and enables service users, employers, healthcare commissioners and the public to choose a practitioner who is competent and behaves in an ethical and compassionate manner.
This means that FHT members on our register are professional therapists providing complementary healthcare services to the public, to help benefit their physical, emotional and mental health. Therapists on the register meet high standards of personal and professional behaviour, technical competence and business practice. This offers you confidence in the registrant’s ability to practise as a professional.
The FHT Register’s function
The function of the FHT Register it to protect the public by:
upholding standards for our registrants' education and training, professional skills, conduct, performance and ethics;
keeping a register of complementary healthcare practitioners who meet those standards;
approve qualifications which complementary healthcare therapists must complete to register with us; and
take action when complementary healthcare therapists on our register do not meet our standards.
